About Us

First generation Telugus came to France in 60s. 95% of them were from Yanam and most of them knew each other. So there were family functions and they didn't find the need to have any association. Coming to 80s, there were other Telugu speaking people, other than from Yanam arrived in France and the need for an association was felt by many of us. So we have formed a group called informal committee of Telugus in 1992 and started Telugu classes, computer classes, encouraging Telugu students by recognizing their talents and academic and non academic performance once a year by giving prizes, etc. In 1997, we register the association in the name of AIDH and extended the activities to non Telugu speaking population also and AIDH is identified as an association which promotes education.

About ten years ago we formed Comité des amis to organise Ugadi which became popular among the Telugu community. Since about 2010 there are many more Telugu speaking young professionals started coming to France and there is a real need for an association to bring them all closer to each other and feel homely away from home. Hence, we are here, with the objective of - for the Telugus by the Telugus.
